Gas for the cooktop and to heat the water is supplied by two gas bottles located at the side of the house. One bottle is always in use, while the other serves as a full backup. Occasionally you may need to switch to the backup tank if the main bottle runs out. If you notice that the water isn’t heating or the cooktop isn’t lighting, it’s likely time to change the tank. Simply follow the easy steps below to switch over to the backup tank.
Please let Christine know if you switch the tanks over so that she can arrange for a full replacement tank.
The tanks are located down the right hand side of the house when facing the house.
Locate the selector valve (circled in the photo). Turn the arrow to point toward the full gas bottle. This determines which bottle is in use.
Twist the valve on the top of the full bottle counterclockwise to open it.Close the valve of the empty bottle by twisting it clockwise until fully tightened.
